Most PC builders online send you a box and a phone number. We do it differently. You tell us what you want, you bring your own parts or we find them, we build the PC in our Cambridge workshop, we stress-test it for 12 hours and we hand it over ready to use. If anything goes wrong later, you come to us in Cambridge or Dagenham instead of posting a whole PC back to a warehouse.
This post shows how that works, using a real build from October 2026: a Lian Li O11 Vision with eleven fans, built exactly to the customer’s plan.
You choose the parts and the look
There is no fixed menu and no “gaming PC number 3”. Every build starts with what you want the computer to do and how you want it to look.
- Any budget, any brand. Tell us what you will use the PC for and how much you want to spend, and we suggest parts that fit. If you already know every part you want, we build exactly that.
- Bring your own parts. New parts, parts from your old PC, or a mix. You do not have to buy anything from us to use our build service.
- Hard-to-find parts. If one part is sold out everywhere, we chase it for you. In the build below the case was the hard part, and we had it in the workshop within 24 hours.
- Your layout, your airflow, your lighting. If you have a plan for where every fan goes, we follow it to the letter.
- One price, confirmed first. We confirm the full price with you before any part is ordered.

A real build: Lian Li O11 Vision, eleven fans, every one facing the right way
In October 2026 a customer came to us with an exact vision. He had his parts ready: an Intel Core i9-14900K, an ASUS ROG Strix Z790-F Gaming WiFi II motherboard, 32 GB of G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB DDR5 memory, an ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, a Lian Li Galahad II LCD 360 liquid cooler with its own screen, a ROG Thor 850 W Platinum power supply and eleven Lian Li Uni Fan SL-Infinity fans. The one thing he did not have was the case he wanted, a black Lian Li O11 Vision, which was hard to get at the time. We sourced it and had it in the workshop within 24 hours.
His special request: every fan must show its “good side” through the glass, with the airflow exactly as he had planned it. Three reverse-blade intake fans on the side, three on the bottom, three exhaust fans on the top radiator and two at the back. The cooler’s own fans were swapped for reverse-blade ones so the look stays the same all round.

The first assembly would not close. The fans stuck out by about half a centimetre, so the build was taken apart and re-arranged until everything fitted and every cable was routed cleanly. In total that was about seven hours of non-stop work by Lucian, our hardware specialist.

Set up and ready to game from the first start
A pile of parts screwed together is not a finished PC. Before testing starts we make it a computer you can simply switch on and use.
- Latest firmware. On this build the motherboard BIOS went from version 1503 to 2202, the newest at the time.
- Windows 11 installed and fully updated, with all drivers in place.
- Cooler and lighting software set up, so the screen on the cooler and the fan lighting work the way you want from day one.
- The programs you ask for. Tell us what you play and what you work with, and the PC comes ready to use and game.
Tested for 12 hours before you collect it
We do not hand over a PC that has only passed a quick switch-on. Every build goes through the same routine, with every sensor logged the whole time by HWiNFO64.
- A one-hour OCCT processor and memory test.
- Fifteen hours of idle logging overnight, to catch anything that only shows up when the PC sits quietly.
- The twelve-hour OCCT System Platinum test: processor, memory, graphics card and finally processor and graphics card together at full power.

This is what that looked like for the build above:
- OCCT System Platinum certificate awarded after 12 hours and 2 minutes, no errors.
- Processor peaked at 88 °C under sustained all-core load, with the limit at 100 °C.
- Graphics card peaked at 64 °C while drawing its full 320 W.
- Zero Windows hardware errors across 28 hours and 34 minutes of logging, 39,903 sensor samples in total.
You get all of this in writing: a report with photos, charts, the certificate and anything we think you should know. On this build, for example, the BIOS update had reset the memory to its default speed, so we explained how to switch the faster XMP profile on and why it should be tested again afterwards. Read the full report for this build (PDF), or see more example reports and build videos on our custom built PCs page.
If something goes wrong later, you come to us, not a courier
With an online builder, a fault months later means boxing up the whole PC, posting it back and waiting. We build to the same standard, with the same 12-month warranty, but we are a few miles away. With us it works like this:
- Local, in person. Bring the PC to CamLife 4 in Fulbourn, Cambridge, to our Mill Road drop-off point, or to our Dagenham workshop. See our locations and opening hours.
- Diagnosed within one working day. We find the fault and tell you exactly what it is before anything is done.
- Remote help where possible. Many software problems can be fixed remotely, so often you do not need to bring the PC in at all.
- 12 months of warranty, in person. Big online builders give you 12 months of warranty and a returns label. We give you 12 months of warranty on our build work and a workshop you can walk into. Every part also keeps its full manufacturer warranty: in this build the fans carry two years and the cooler six.
- Repairs, not replacements. If a board ever fails we can repair motherboards at component level instead of sending you shopping.
Questions people ask us about custom builds
Can I bring my own parts?
Yes. New parts, parts from your old PC, or a mix. We check everything is compatible before we start.
Can you get a case or part that is sold out everywhere?
Usually, yes. For the build above the Lian Li O11 Vision was the hard part, and we had it within 24 hours. Tell us what you are after and we will tell you honestly how fast we can get it.
How long does a custom build take?
We aim to have your PC built, set up and tested within 48 hours once all the parts are here. The testing alone takes more than a day, because we do not skip it.
Do you install Windows and my games?
Yes. Windows 11, all updates and drivers, the cooler and lighting software, and the programs and games you ask for.
What happens if it breaks after a few months?
You bring it to us in Cambridge or Dagenham, or we help remotely if the problem is software. We diagnose it within one working day. Our build work carries a 12-month warranty, and every part keeps its own manufacturer warranty on top.
Do you build PCs for work as well as gaming?
Yes. Editing and design workstations, quiet home-office PCs and small-form-factor builds get exactly the same care and the same testing.
Ready to plan your build?
Tell us your budget and what you will use the PC for, and we will suggest a build and confirm the full price before ordering anything. See our custom built PCs page, book a visit, or message us on WhatsApp 0749 792 5760.
